Haydon Spenceley

Trustee

I am delighted to be supporting the work of Sports Chaplaincy UK as a Trustee. I’ve been Chaplain at Northampton Town since 2017. When I started I barely had a grey hair. That is not the case now. It has been wonderful to grow in confidence myself as a Chaplain and learn so much too and I am excited to support other Chaplains both to have their voices heard on our Trustee Board and in any other way I can. Away from SCUK I am Director of Vocation & Formation for the Diocese of Peterborough. Previously I led an ecumenical Church in Northampton for 5 years. I have albums out – on all streaming platforms! – and I used to hold the national record for 100m backstroke in the S4 category. I once turned down joining the CP Sport GB Swimming Training Squad to make sure I got good A Levels. Arguably this was an error. I’m married to Jo who is great. All of the statements in this paragraph are true and there’s a lot more I could say too. Trust of all I would be nowhere without God.
