01 Warren Evans
Warren Evans, Chief Executive Officer

Warren became CEO early in 2015 and gained an MA in Sports Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care in 2016. He is a skilful and resourceful leader who values individuals and loves to see them succeed. Warren is not just passionate about what we do but how and why we do it. Warren was previously Chaplain for the Bradford Bulls and Pastoral Director to the Rugby Football League.


National Directors

02 Matt Baker
Matt Baker, National Director for England & Pastoral Support Director in English Football

Matt has worked as the Pastoral Support Director in English Football since November 2009, which is supported by the Premier League, Professional Footballers’ Association and the English Football League. He has also been Chaplain to Charlton Athletic since 2000.  From 2020, Matt took on the role of National Director developing the work of Sports Chaplaincy UK across England.  Matt is a gifted and excellent communicator and gained his MTh in Christian Doctrine at Spurgeon’s College in 1998.


03 Martin Lewis
Martin Lewis, National Director for Wales
Martin has been Chaplain to the Cardiff Blues since 2010 starting with the academy but now also chaplain to the seniors and the whole club. He was selected for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand where he was Chaplain to Namibia. He has also served as a chaplain at other major tournaments including the World Student 7’s and the World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Hamburg 2018. Martin is thrilled to be able to play a small part in leading and developing SCUK across Wales where God is doing amazing things. Martin gained an MA in Sports Chaplaincy & Pastoral Care in 2015.


04 Mark Fleming
Mark Fleming, National Director for Scotland
Mark is National Director of Sports Chaplaincy Scotland. Alongside this role, he is an official supplier of mental health awareness training to NHS National Services Scotland and the SPFL Trust/Chris Mitchell Foundation. He has provided in-house mental health awareness training at a range of football clubs and sporting governing bodies such as the English Football Association, Scottish Football Association, Scottish Rugby Union and the Camanachd Association. He has also provided mental health training for a range of other organisations such as Police Scotland, HSBC, SKY and Compassion UK. In his spare time he enjoys watching football as a neutral and hill climbing.


05 Philip Mitchell
Philip Mitchell, National Director for Sports Chaplaincy in Ireland
