The North West Cricket Union is delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Duddy as Chaplain to the North West Warriors.
Alan is well known throughout sporting circles in the North West, having played for both Brigade and Creevedonnell as well as captaining Foyle College to the Ulster Schools Cup. He also had a spell at Holywood CC in the NCU.
Professionally, Alan is a former teacher and now serves as a Youth and Community worker in Glendermott and as chaplain to both Newbuildings Cricket and Football Clubs.
Alan will lead the development of cricket chaplaincy across Ireland alongside Sports Chaplaincy coordinator for Ireland Philip Mitchell, and North West Cricket Union Chaplain Stephen Skuce.
His new role will see him focus his attention on the Warriors and pathway system while Stephen will focus on the Union as whole.
Speaking this morning the former Brigade player said “I’m delighted to be taking on this role and looking forward to getting to know the players and coaching staff at the Warriors.”
Philip Mitchell added “It is a privilege to be serving so many sports clubs across Ireland and an increasing number of cricket clubs in the North West. Alan, I know, will add a valuable layer of additional support to the Warriors. Well done to the team at the NWCU for showing the vision to make this happen.”
The NWCU Board would like to take this opportunity to welcome Alan and Stephen to our support team and wish them every success with their roles.
