As posted on the Cobh Ramblers website

Cobh Ramblers FC are committed to caring for the players, staff, volunteers and supporters that make up the community around our Football Club.

As one aspect of that care, we are delighted to announce Allyson O’Regan as our official Club Chaplain

Allyson is local to Cobh, and is experienced in providing a safe confidential space and a listening ear. She’s worked in tech companies as a team lead in sales and recruitment. She is wife to Shane and mam to Oisín – and is motivated by her faith to care well for others.

The sports chaplain role is to provide a safe, confidential space for people to come and talk about whatever is going on in their lives, and provide mental, emotional and spiritual support. Allyson is a member of Sports Chaplaincy Ireland, a Christian charity, and has been trained to serve in a sporting environment.

At Cobh Ramblers, Allyson is here to serve people of all faiths and none, without prejudice, and with no strings attached. She offers a listening ear and low key support in times of stress, crises, change or injury. Her complete confidentiality is guaranteed.

These are the kinds of situations in which you might want to contact Allyson:

* To have a coffee and chat about life beyond the pitch
* To visit you or a family member who may be ill or is in need
* To provide support during particularly challenging circumstances

You will meet Allyson most match nights chatting to volunteers and supporters or pouring the tea at half-time.
