Blackpool Football Club was shocked and saddened by the death of lifelong supporter Tony Johnson.
Tony was a regular on the terraces of Bloomfield Road and fondly remembered throughout the fanbase. On March 6, the Club marked the passing of Tony surrounded by his family and friends as wreaths and flowers were laid alongside the Mortensen Statue. Club Chaplain Linda Tomkinson made a speech alongside the statue before Blackpool Director Brett Gerrity and Head Coach Mick McCarthy laid a wreath on behalf of the Club with all staff and players present. The Moretti lounge then hosted a book of condolence for those who wished to pay their respects and share stories as one community.
